IconsExtract

Many applications include their icons in the installation folder, meaning they're not difficult to get to. However, other applications don't make it quite as easy, usually keeping their icons in the executable file.

IconsExtract is a free program for Windows that lets you automatically extract the icons from all your applications by searching through all the files on your hard drive.

The process is simpler than you'd imagine. You just have to select the file where the icons you want to extract are found and begin the search, which can include the subdirectories as well. The application also lets you select the executables you want to extract the icons from.

For both options, IconsExtract includes certain filters, like size and color depth.
